Since 1958 The Guidance Center has been committed to its mission to: Nurture development. Foster resilience. Cultivate well-being. Throughout the last six decades the agency has maintained a collaborative relationship with its local communities and schools to support adults and children experiencing mental health difficulties and other challenges. A group of concerned residents and educators recognized the need for mental health services in our area and joined forces in 1958 to help form The Guidance Center. Since then we have worked as a team to respond to the needs of children, adults and families in southeast Michigan. The agency operates a wide range of programs and services at 23 locations. Our expertise in mental health and wellness, early childhood education, free preschool for low-income families, developmental disabilities services and support, mentoring, substance use disorder, workforce development, Kids-TALK Children's Advocacy Center (CAC), Champions of Wayne, the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), and research and evaluation helps more than 15,000 members of our community annually work on their own personal triumphs in life.

The Hope Foundation for Cancer Research is a public charity with the mission of raising and contributing funds for the treatment and prevention of cancer. Services To Enhance Potential (STEP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides support and services to over 1,400 individuals with disabilities and other mental health needs in the Wayne and Macomb Counties. Individuals with barriers are enabled to reach their best potential and life goals through self-employment, supported employment, volunteer opportunities, and a variety of programs and trainings. We strongly believe that all individuals have the choice and ability to achieve the quality of life they deserve. Services To Enhance Potential is the owner and operator of STEP Thrift Store and Donation Centers. Our thrift store operations are significantly different from others in the community. STEP Thrift Store and Donation Centers hire the individuals that we serve; allowing them to earn a livable income, learn useful real-world skills, and integrate in community life. Our mission is to support individuals in the pursuit of their chosen goals and the achievement of personal satisfaction in their lives.

Growth Works, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization serving youth, adults and families in Western Wayne and surrounding areas with a focus of juvenile justice, substance use disorders and family interventions. For over 50 years the agency has designed and implemented innovative programs to meet the needs and challenges of our communities from a youth drop in center in the 1970s, to formalizing programs for delinquent and chemically dependent youth with parent components in the 1980’s, through adding case management services for adjudicated youth in the 1990’s, providing a menu of support services for our clients and families in 2000’s. The agency continues to grow and enhance services with a greater family stability emphasis, adult treatment resources and community based opportunities for youth. Current efforts combine an expertise in the field of adolescent addiction and juvenile justice and the elements of brain based techniques, emotional regulation & trauma informed therapies.
