The Mission of the Acton Institute is to promote a free and virtuous society characterized by individual liberty and sustained by religious principles. Founded in April, 1990, the Acton Institute is named in honor of John Emerich Edward Dalberg Acton (1834-1902), 1st Baron Acton of Aldenham and the historian of freedom. Known as “the magistrate of history,” Lord Acton was one of the great personalities of the nineteenth century. Widely considered one of the most learned Englishmen of his time, Lord Acton made the history of liberty his life’s work. Indeed, his most notable conclusion of this work is that political liberty is the essential condition and guardian of religious liberty. He thereby points to the union of faith and liberty, which has been the inspiration for the mission of the Acton Institute.

Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore serves 6,000+ girls ages 5-17 in 30 counties across northern and western lower Michigan. Girl Scouting helps girls DISCOVER who they are, CONNECT with others locally and globally and TAKE ACTION to make the world a better place. With the support of our committed volunteers and staff members, girls develop qualities that will serve them all their lives, such as leadership, strong values, social conscience and conviction about their own potential and self-worth.

Our Mission: To inspire and empower Greater Holland's children and teens, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Holland is a safe place to learn and grow – all while having fun. It is the place where great futures are started each and every day. Our Club offers programs and services designed to create academic success, character citizenship, and healthy lifestyles in a fun, safe, and constructive after-school and summer environment. We have three facilities, a South Side Unit and a North Side Unit and East Side Unit, used solely for youth programs. The Club is open every day after school, and weekdays during the summer when youth are unsupervised and need positive and productive activities. We have full-time, trained youth development professionals providing guidance, direction, and mentorship. The Club charges $5.00 per year for a membership to allow affordability for all children. Home Repair Services of Kent County was established as an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 1979 and is located in the heart of Grand Rapids. Home Repair Services strengthens lower-income homeowners throughout all of Kent County with services that include our Home Repair Team, Access Ramps and Bath Modifications Program, Fix-it School Classes, DIY Remodeling Together Program, and Financial Coaching and Workshops. Our Mission: Home Repair Services strengthens vulnerable Kent County homeowners because strong homeowners build strong communities.
