Ele’s Place is a nonprofit, community-based organization with a mission to create awareness of and support for grieving children and families. Through peer support group programs, Ele’s Place helps children to cope with the death or life-threatening illness of a parent, sibling or other close family member or friend. Before coming to Ele’s Place, many grieving children feel alone and keep their feelings inside, not wanting to burden their parents or other family members. Often friends don’t seem to understand if they haven’t had a similar experience. But each week at Ele’s Place, hundreds of grieving children find a warm and welcoming place to meet new friends who really understand how they feel. Some children learn how to cope with a family member’s illness, while others begin to heal after the death of a loved one.

Michigan Disability Rights Coalition's mission is to cultivate disability pride and strengthen the disability movement by recognizing disability as a natural and beautiful part of human diversity while collaborating to dismantle all forms of oppression. We support groups of people with disabilities who want to change the community in which they live through training, supported planning, and assistance with organizational development.

Our Mission: MCEDSV is dedicated to the empowerment of all the state's survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Our Vision: MCEDSV is Michigan's catalyst for creating empowered and transformed individuals, communities, and societies committed to building a lasting legacy of equality, peace and social justice, where domestic and sexual violence no longer exists. Our Goals and Values: 1. Provide statewide leadership on public policy issues affecting survivors and the programs that serve them. 2. Promote comprehensive, community-based social change efforts to end domestic and sexual violence and build peaceful communities. 3. Promote the availability and accessibility of high-quality, culturally-relevant, domestic and sexual violence services and prevention programs. 4. Build capacity for community-specific solutions to ending domestic and sexual violence. 5. Encourage the leadership of women. MCEDSV is a network of community-based domestic violence and sexual assault programs. Recruited campers; hired and supervised counselors; created, implemented, and evaluated daily and special program schedule; managed bus transportation; managed camper disciplinary issues as well as resolutions with counselors and parents; balanced camp budget; collaborated with staff at the host camp site at Tamarack Camps; created a safe space for Jewish youth to explore, express and live by the values of being a part of a Jewish community.
