Organized in 1934, the Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL) has a proud tradition of innovation and leadership among the nation’s credit union trade associations. Thanks in no small part to the efforts of the MCUL, the history of the Michigan credit union movement is one of growth, success and progress. Through membership in the MCUL, Michigan credit unions receive important services such as legislative, regulatory and media advocacy; a stream of timely and vital news and information; access to key education and training programs; direct assistance with critical operational and planning issues; and a host of other products, services and programs designed exclusively to meet the unique individual and collective needs of credit unions.

Christian Financial Credit Union began in 1950 as St. Jude’s Parish Credit Union in Detroit, Michigan. Over time, the credit union has continued to grow. In 1998, SERF Credit Union and Northeast Catholic Credit Union merged, and the name Christian Financial was born. In January 2003, CFCU merged with Father Murray Federal Credit Union and St. Mark’s Parish Credit Union. In October 2013, CFCU merged with ARC Credit Union. As of April 1, 2020, our merger with Motor City Co-op Credit Union has grown the credit union to more than 61,000+ members. Today, Christian Financial serves anyone who lives, works, worships, or is educated in Macomb, Oakland, Wayne, or St. Clair Counties. People Driven Credit Union is a member-owned, full-service financial institution helping members and their families with money management since 1928. PDCU was founded in 1928 as Detroit Federal Employees Credit union to serve as a primary field of membership of federal employees in the Detroit area and their families. In 2003 our charter expanded to include any government or public school district employee in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties, plus members of their families. In 2005, we changed our name to Peoples Trust Credit Union, and our membership eligibility was expanded to include people who live, work, or worship in most of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties. In 2014, we merged with Community-Driven Credit Union, which had a service history to Ford Motor Company Employees. We changed our name to People Driven Credit Union as part of this merger.
