PIRE is an independent, nonprofit organization merging scientific knowledge and proven practice to create solutions that improve the health, safety and well-being of individuals, communities, and nations around the world. PIRE has a significant national presence in the area of applied science, with funded research projects at its centers on prevention, treatment, and policy research. PIRE scientists and practitioners continually focus on the design and implementation of complex program evaluation strategies and the conduct of research related to health and social issues, and criminal justice. PIRE practitioners and scientists provide training and technical assistance in many health-related areas to states and communities that are attempting to improve public health.

"Achieving full community life for people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities — one person at a time” is the mission of The Arc of Howard County. Full community life means allowing people to express their choices and have confidence that others will honor those choices; ensuring that those we support are able to choose how and with whom they spend their time, and are able to work at a challenging and rewarding job. The Arc of Howard County began in 1961 as a volunteer parent support group; it is the oldest and largest non-profit organization in Howard County that provides services to over 400 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. From our experienced professional staff to our skilled job coaches and dedicated residential counselors, The Arc is people helping people in the most fundamental ways. Since its inception over 50 years ago, The Arc has grown from a small group of parents to one of the county’s largest employers, with more than 300 staff members and hundreds of volunteers. As we've grown, there’s one thing that hasn't changed -- we continue to provide individual services, from one person to another.

Established in 1985, Living Classrooms Foundation strengthens communities and inspires people to achieve their highest potential through hands-on learning opportunities in the fields of education, workforce development, health and wellness, and violence prevention. Our programs leverage our surrounding environmental assets and maritime resources to serve as “living classrooms.” For over three decades, we have helped communities in Baltimore and Washington, DC become safer, stronger, and healthier through diverse programs designed to disrupt the generational poverty that can be directly traced to historic racial, social, and economic disparities. We have provided opportunities for thousands of children, youth, and adults to identify specific needs, communicate their aspirations, and achieve their goals. From serving a few hundred people in our initial year, Living Classrooms has grown to serve over 30,000 children, youth, and adults in our best-in-class programs.

The mission of Key Point Health Services is to provide quality mental health care in an environment committed to continuous improvement. Key Point Health Services is a private non-profit mental health care agency providing psychiatric and psychological treatment for the complete spectrum of mental health concerns including but not limited to depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorders, schizophrenia, ADD, ADHD, and family counseling for adults, children, and seniors. Every patient at Key Point is seen by a licensed psychiatrist and is assigned a licensed therapist to aid in the best possible treatment. Key Point Health Services serves adults and children in a community based mental health program. The corporation began in April l983 and has grown into a comprehensive program dedicated to enrich the lives of people with mental health concerns. Key Point is licensed and certified by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in the State of Maryland. Key Point has received a State Senate Proclamation, recognition by Congress and an award by the Governor for its services in the community. Key Point Health Services is primarily a public mental health provider. We accept Medicare, Medicare Railroad Retirement and Maryland Medical Assistance. Key Point does not participate in most private insurance plans; however we will accept patients with private health insurance, ask for payment at the time of the service and provide a receipt where the patient can submit to the insurance company for reimbursement.

The mission of The Arc Carroll County is to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their individual pursuit of a fulfilling life.

Provides human resources advice and consultation to employees and management, to include coaching and counseling on performance management issues, conflict management, interpretation of employment policies and resolution. Implements, disseminates, and monitors company policies, programs and procedures in the areas of training, compensation, compliance, and benefits to attract, retain, and motivate employees. Oversees recording and maintenance of employee information, such as personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance, performance reviews or evaluations, disciplinary actions, and terminations/separations of employment. Monitors organizational compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations relating to equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, unemployment compensation and any other employment-related requirements. Coordinates with operations regional/area managers regarding all employment activity (i.e., hiring, employee relations, compliance, terminations, etc.) within the division. Assists in conducting and resolving investigations regarding employee complaints and concerns. Participates in local management staff meetings and assists with and influences personnel-related decisions. Involved with coaching and counseling managers as it relates to performance management. Identifies training needs and/or gaps and develops training programs as appropriate. Also conducts training sessions, including but not limited to, new hire orientation, classroom training and additional leadership sessions. Performs or assists with necessary Human Resource related audits for organization locations. Implements succession planning and talent management plans to support leadership by identifying current talent and anticipating future needs. Oversees the direct the work of human resources staff and volunteers
