CREDIT UNION OF AMERICA
CREDIT UNION OF AMERICA
Wichita, Kansas
100-499 employees
Headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, Credit Union of America was officially chartered on March 6, 1935 as the “Wichita City Teachers Credit Union”. In 1974 our name was changed to Credit Union of America and our membership was opened from serving only educators to being able to serve residents and workers in a multi-county Kansas area. Like other credit unions, CUA is a financial cooperative where members own a share of the organization and have a vote in the appointment of our volunteer Board of Directors and Supervisory committee. This structure of membership allows our account owners to be more involved in the direction and leadership of CUA. Unlike a bank, where dividends are paid only to the stockholders, CUA’s dividends are paid back to the entire membership in the form of lower loan rates and higher dividend rates on deposit accounts. CUA still focuses on serving educators in numerous school districts: Wichita, Derby, Haysville, Andover, Anthony-Harper, Maize, Goddard, Great Bend, and Salina just to name a few. And with that focus we have special programs for educators including guaranteed teacher loans and classroom grants. We also focus on healthcare workers, specifically serving employees of the Via Christi Health System and Central Kansas Medical Center, among others. Our healthcare specific services include continuing education scholarships and guaranteed healthcare worker loans. No matter where you work, we’re certain to have affordable financial services to help you meet your goals and budget.

MILLENNIUM CORPORATE CREDIT UNION

Kansas Corporate was chartered November 1951, a milestone act, providing credit unions a cooperative correspondent ally in the financial services industry. Today, over 70 years later, we’re still working with credit unions to better the financial well-being of their members’ lives. Our national field of membership allows us to partner with credit unions outside the great state of Kansas, however, it wasn’t until 2005 that we actively began promoting our services outside state boundaries. Credit unions from surrounding areas quickly learned of our commitment to the credit union industry and the value of partnering with Kansas Corporate. Membership grew. This growth continued in the years to follow with the occurrence of two mergers. The first, in 2012, with Treasure State Corporate Credit Union in Helena, MT, and the second, in 2015, with Missouri Corporate Credit Union in St. Louis, MO. Through our mergers and membership expansion efforts, Millennium Corporate has grown to serve just shy of 300 credit unions in 8 states. That’s right, Millennium Corporate. With the aforementioned growth and expansion into areas outside Kansas, a name that was once so fitting, no longer seemed so. In 2015, Kansas Corporate underwent a rebranding initiative to become Millennium Corporate Credit Union. This new name and brand doesn’t change who we are or what we believe, it simply reflects who we’ve become and where we’ll go from here.
