We do this by providing services and support in early intervention, residential living, community access, job placement and training, and transportation. The organization was founded in 1968 through a local grassroots effort of parents of children with disabilities and organizations who envisioned a community that welcomed and offered opportunity to individuals with disabilities rather than sending them to state-run institutions. SIRS continues to advocate for and implement best-practice, quality services for people with disabilities.

Child & Family Services is a private, nonprofit, human service agency that provides adoption services, mental health counseling, psychiatry and specialized support programs to people of all ages living in Greater New Bedford, Fall River, and Cape Cod.
