Juul Labs is a thriving team of scientists, engineers, designers and professionals who are committed to offering adult smokers alternatives to combustible cigarettes, while combating underage use of our products. JUUL products are designed to transition adult smokers from combustible cigarettes by providing a competitive nicotine experience. Product Juul Labs’ technology was developed in support of our mission. The JUUL product consists of two main components: e-liquid and the JUUL device. JUUL e-liquid aims to provide a nicotine experience similar to combustible cigarette use. The JUUL device is built to deliver this e-liquid as a vapor while maintaining a low temperature regulation system designed to minimize combustion. Revolutionary thinking Adam Bowen and James Monsees co-founded Juul Labs when they applied their background in product design to the challenge of finding a true alternative to smoking combustible cigarettes. As smokers for many years, they could find no acceptable alternative. Adam and James recognized an opportunity to apply industrial design to the tobacco industry. The result was the JUUL product. Our commitment We understand that trust in our company and category has eroded with our stakeholders and it is our responsibility to earn back that trust through our actions. To earn a license to operate in society, we are putting stakeholder trust at the center of what we do and make choices that are informed by the views of our stakeholders, including and especially our regulators. Our intent Our customer base is the world’s one billion adult smokers. We do not want any non-nicotine users, especially those underage, to try our products as they exist only to transition the world’s one billion adult smokers away from combustible cigarettes. We believe smokers should first and foremost quit. But for those who cannot or will not quit, access to alternatives to combustible cigarettes and accurate information about those alternatives is critical.

ASLIN BEER COMPANY
ASLIN BEER COMPANY
Herndon, Virginia
51-200 employees
Aslin Beer Company was founded in 2015 by Andrew Kelley and Kai Leszkowicz. The name, Aslin, comes from the family that connected Andrew and Kai through marriage; they each married a daughter from the Aslin Family. Andrew’s professional background was in finance and consulting, while Kai worked in public service. They bonded over a shared interest in craft beer and home-brewing, which eventually lead to the idea that “We can do this too.” Aslin Beer Company aims to create a culture that celebrates beer with a passion and depth of knowledge that's contagious to others. Through our rapid growth, we've come to realize that our beer is not the only good we have the opportunity to cultivate, but that our community is truly at the core of what we do. While we think beer is fun, and we (really) like to experiment, we’ve also got an intense dedication to brewing and providing quality beer of every kind.

OUR STORY From our "Ohana" to yours.... Ono Brewing Company is a family business owned by husband and wife team, Scott and Cyndi Hoffman. “Ono” means “delicious” or “tasty” in Hawaiian and was chosen because of Scott and Cyndi’s deep connections to Hawaii. Cyndi’s mother was born and raised in Kahuku, on the island of Oahu. Scott and Cyndi were fortunate to return to Cyndi’s family roots, spending their first years of marriage living in Hawaii. It was there that they learned Hawaiian culture and traditions from Cyndi’s extended “Ohana” (family) while Scott served in the U.S. Army at Schofield Barracks. After their military tour, Scott and Cyndi returned to Florida, where Cyndi and Scott first met and spent their college days, and where Scott’s love of home-brewing was first kindled. After spending nearly twenty years together in the tropical locations of Hawaii and Florida, Scott and Cyndi have called Northern Virginia home since 2011. However, they came to miss the laid-back atmosphere of Hawaii where everyone is on “Island time” and Florida where flip-flops are worn year-round. They worked hard to bring a little bit of that relaxing vibe to Northern Virginia, through Ono Brewing Company, albeit without the sand and surf.

CATOCTIN CREEK DISTILLING COMPAN
CATOCTIN CREEK DISTILLING COMPAN
Purcellville, Virginia
11-50 employees
Catoctin Creek® was founded by Becky and Scott Harris in 2009 as the first legal distillery in Loudoun County since before Prohibition. We are located in Purcellville, Virginia, in the heart of the Loudoun Valley. Virginia is the birthplace of American whiskey, and at Catoctin Creek, we faithfully dedicate ourselves to that tradition, producing Virginia's most awarded whisky—Roundstone Rye! The name "Catoctin" is a regional name. Pronounced Ka-TOCK-tin, the name derives from the Indian tribal name "Kittocton" which, legend has it, meant "place of many deer". Catoctin describes a range of mountains and the eponymous creek which flows picturesquely past the distillery and into the Potomac River and Chesapeake Watershed. At Catoctin Creek, we believe in high quality food and spirits. We source our grain and fruit from local sources, free of pesticides and chemical additives that would come through in the spirits we produce. The results are the finest, cleanest spirits possible, with the greatest attention to detail in every single bottle we produce. The Virginia Rye Whisky℠
