Western Disposal is a local family-owned business that started over 40 years ago in Boulder, Colorado with one truck and a vision of what customers would value in a trash collection company: dependable, on-time service from friendly, well-trained employees. In 2013 we launched The Diversion Challenge (http://thediversionchallenge.org) to prompt our customers and the communities we serve around Boulder to get the details and ideas necessary to increase their recycling and composting activity. With a vision of providing our customers with the convenient and effective options throughtout their day to make the most thoughtful choices about what they do with their waste, together we are leading The Way to a Better Environment. During the 43 years we have been in business, we have evolved into a company with 140 employees, over 70 vehicles on the road each day and 35,000 residential and commercial customers. We attribute this success to our commitment to provide the best service to all our customers every day. Even though we are literally all over town every day, we have one of the best safety records in our industry and we have won the “Pewter Stag” award several times from the Hartford Insurance Company for our safety record and our safety programs. We are proud to support numerous local non-profits, particularly those with an environmental sustainability mission and/or those focusing on helping under-resourced kids.
