The Medical Center is located at the intersection of Routes 140 and 16 in Milford, MA. A full-service, community and regional teaching hospital, Milford Regional is a 149-bed, nonprofit, acute-care facility serving a region of 20-plus towns. With over 300 primary care and specialty physicians on the medical staff, our physicians are skilled in the most advanced procedures and technology, and provide personalized patient care in a warm and caring environment. Many hold teaching appointments at New England’s finest medical schools preparing the doctors of tomorrow. Milford Regional broke ground in early 2014 on a new 78,000 square feet building (116,000 square feet with underground parking) that houses a new emergency department, intensive care unit and private patient rooms. The emergency department has increased from 30 to 52 beds and has doubled in size to nearly 30,000 square feet. The intensive care unit has grown from 4,600 to 13,000 square feet in order to accommodate today’s advanced life-saving technologies. A new telemetry floor with 24 private patient rooms will allow the hospital to convert multi-patient rooms in other areas to private without reducing capacity. The $54 million building project opened in October 2015. In addition to Milford Regional's exciting new building, patients benefit from our patient care center which includes eight state-of-the-art operating suites, consolidated surgical services (including admitting and pre-admission testing) and a medical/surgical floor with private rooms, many with advanced patient monitoring capabilities. More recently, we fully renovated our fourth floor to 15 private rooms designed for the needs of cancer and palliative care patients. Our Maternity Center offers home-like LDRP (labor, delivery,
