WaterFire Providence® is an independent, non-profit arts organization whose mission is to inspire Providence and its visitors by revitalizing the urban experience, fostering community engagement and creatively transforming the city by presenting WaterFire for all to enjoy. This award-winning sculpture by Barnaby Evans installed on the three rivers of downtown Providence, has been praised by Rhode Island residents and international visitors alike as a powerful work of art and a moving symbol of Providence’s renaissance. WaterFire’s over eighty sparkling bonfires, the fragrant scent of aromatic wood smoke, the flickering firelight on the arched bridges, the silhouettes of the firetenders passing by the flames, the torch-lit vessels traveling down the river, and the enchanting music from around the world engage all the senses and emotions of those who stroll the paths of Waterplace Park. WaterFire has captured the imagination of over ten million visitors, bringing life to downtown, and revitalizing Rhode Island’s capital city.

AS220 is a non-profit community arts organization located in downtown Providence, Rhode Island. Our mission to provide “a local forum and home for the arts through the maintenance of residential and work studios, galleries, performance and educational spaces” remains as relevant and vital today as it was when AS220 was founded in 1985. True to our origins, our performance spaces remain unjuried, uncensored and all ages: they are spaces to come together, collaborate, innovate, experiment and take risks. AS220 cultivates a creative community that continues to have a profoundly transformative impact on the city of Providence. We are dedicated to supporting artists and enhancing the cultural opportunities for all the people of Rhode Island. AS220 provides artists opportunities to live, work, exhibit and perform in our three facilities, which include: four rotating gallery spaces; a performance stage; a black box theater; a print shop; a darkroom and media arts lab; a fabrication and electronics lab; a dance studio; a youth program focusing on youth under state care and in the Rhode Island juvenile detention facility; 47 affordable residential apartments and 7 work studios for artists; and a bar and restaurant. In an uncertain social and political environment, AS220 has become an even more critical forum for people to convene, share, and celebrate the humanity in each other.

Our Mission: The Gamm Theatre is proud to tell stories that entertain, provoke, and engage seriously with the most important issues of our time. The Gamm further serves the public with educational programming that enriches the cultural and civic life of our community. The Gamm is one of the region’s premier professional theaters and a cultural asset. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Tony Estrella and Managing Director Amy Gravell, The Gamm brings world-class theater to audiences in Southern New England and beyond. As a destination for critically acclaimed productions, including numerous world and regional premieres, the theater has received several Elliot Norton Awards from the Boston Theater Critics Association, among other professional recognitions. Drawing on the talent of local and visiting artists, we present an eclectic season of exciting new works and classics made to feel new — from the naturalistic to the epic. Our hallmark intimate space, with just 185 seats, allows audiences to engage fully with our productions. Additionally, through a range of robust education and community programs, The Gamm promotes life-long literacy for thousands of school students grades K-12, as well as underserved audience members. The Gamm was founded in 1984 as Alias Stage by a small group of actors from the graduating class of Trinity Rep Conservatory. In 1998, the theater was renamed The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre (The Gamm) in honor of the late actress and arts supporter. The company relocated to an annex of the historic Pawtucket National Guard Armory in 2003, where it performed for 15 seasons. In September 2018, The Gamm moved to its permanent home in Warwick. With more seats, and greater comfort and potential, this newly renovated venue is proving to provide an enhanced experience for our artists and audiences. The Gamm is a proud member of New England Area Theatres, a bargaining unit of Actors’ Equity Association.
