HSHV is not affiliated with or funded by Michigan Humane Society or any other humane organization. HSHV was founded in 1896. We are the only animal shelter in Washtenaw County that takes in all types of unwanted, injured, lost, stray, abandoned, and abused animals. Each year we help over 10,000 dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small animals. We are governed by a board of directors and are supported by generous individual and corporate donors.
