What States Have the Highest and Lowest Quit Rates?

Recent research from WalletHub determined the 20 states with the highest and lowest quit rates in 2022. The list was formulated based on data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

States with the highest resignation rates—exceeding the national average of 2.7%—were Alaska, Georgia, and Wyoming, while New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey were recorded to have the lowest.  

In an interview with EBN, WalletHub Analyst Jill Gonzalez explained that although there are certain industries with more job vacancies and higher pay possibilities, employee engagement and states with more flexible work-from-home policies are other notable factors that could affect these figures.
